Todd Savage: Lead Land & Home Consultant and Broker
As the founders of Survival Retreat Consulting, our family had experienced the stresses of the rat race in the San Francisco Bay Area for over a decade. In 2003, our lives changed forever when I had the pleasure of meeting James Wesley, Rawles - the founder and editor of Survivalblog.com and author of the 'Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse' novel series. His authentic advice led us on a journey to find a sustainable survival property that balanced the needs of our growing family while still being close to a small rural town in Idaho, Montana, or Washington.
Over the next three years, we visited our chosen safe haven region in the American Redoubt over thirty times. However, our search was stressful and frustrating as we struggled to find a professional, discrete consultant to guide us through the process. We needed someone who could pre-visit, screen, and evaluate properties based on our criteria, saving us valuable time and money.
Unfortunately, the real estate agents we contacted were not interested in getting to know our family or understanding our dreams. They simply wanted us to drive around and call if we wanted to make an offer. This lack of personal attention left us feeling like outcasts in rural America.
After our own relocation chaos, we decided to build a custom, full-service business model that would allow anyone, regardless of resources, to make one call and receive the service we only dreamed of having. Our goal is to help others find their perfect safe haven and bring them the peace of mind that we have found.
Since our inception and to better serve our growing and confidential client base we have brought on board an affiliate full service real estate brokerage, an experienced architect certified in ballistic homes and bunkers and finally a world class tactical team to allow our clients to take full responsibility for the safety of their friends, families and loved ones.
Mr. Savage is a former US Marine (89-96) and serves as the primary on-site SRC partner who conducts thorough searches, scouting, and property evaluations based on clients' specific requirements.
Our clients recognize the importance of being prepared for potential threats, whether it be a local or regional environmental disaster, violent protests, or societal breakdowns caused by various factors. Under the premise that "nobody is coming to save you," we train our clients to prepare for self-rescue and emphasize the significance of having a secure rural property to seek refuge in. Such preparation and access to a safe location will be crucial for survival in the current century.
Brandon Verrett is the lead instructor and owner of our affiliate firearms and tactics firm VerTac. He is a former Law Enforcement Officer and Security Contractor for the Department of Homeland Security. He is a graduate of the Napa Police Academy and the DOE Federal Security Police Academy. He has completed advanced trainings with Haley Strategic Partners, American Tactical and South Bay Regional Training Center. Brandon is an NRA certified firearms instructor and a martial arts instructor with a black belt in Kenpo full contact fighting.
Brandon and his VerTac team offer our SRC clients confidential private trainings, gear selection and sales for all family members regardless of firearms experience at the clients new rural property anywhere in CONUS or on one of the many confidential ranges in the Pacific Northwest.
Cody (VerTac Instructor) is currently running an advanced firearms manufacturing company based in the Pacific Northwest. With eight years of experience as a police officer, he served as a SWAT officer and Sniper during his tenure. He has completed many high-level certifications including graduation from the Idaho Police Academy, Washington State Tactical Officers Association SWAT Basic, Sniper Craft Basic Sniper Course, and is a POST certified firearms instructor. Additionally, Cody holds a black belt in American Kenpo.
As a USMC Veteran Reconnaissance Marine, he served with 1st Recon Battalion and has two combat deployments under the OIF campaign.
Douglas is the head architect. He possesses an impressive set of skills and credentials. He has successfully completed the National Council of Architectural Boards (NCARB) seven-tier security planning training and certification program. He is a Certified Passive House Consultant and Certified Passive House Builder, as well as a Fortified Home Professional and Fortified Home Evaluator. In addition to his certifications, he has extensive experience designing ballistic-rated homes and structures, as well as NBC shelters and integrates ATLAS shelter Systems into his secure home designs upon client request.
With a background as a former US Army Airborne Infantry soldier and commissioned officer, he brings a unique perspective to his work. He has also served for years as a church security team leader, with hundreds of hours of close range training. He is Red Cross First Aid certified and actively participates in shooting sports, such as tactical 3-gun and action pistol.
Furthermore, he holds both a Bachelor's and an executive Master's degree in Architecture and has been working in the architectural profession since 1989. He is licensed in many states inside CONUS.
Douglas’ wealth of knowledge and experience make him a valuable asset to any project he undertakes for SRC clients.
